Witchy Guacamole Face
Who says you can’t play with your food? This slightly spooky avocado witch is made with things from the ranch and a little imagination.
Happy Cooking!

What You’ll Need
Guacamole: ripe avocados, fresh lemon juice and salt
Witch’s hat: blue corn tortilla chips
Hair: shredded carrots
Eyes: hard-boiled egg slices from my nephew’s hens, with little caper berry tip pieces for pupils
Nose: a garlic clove with a caper “wart”
Mouth: a red pepper from the garden
Finishing touch: a cucumber flower tucked into her hair
Make Your Witch
Spread the guacamole into a long face on a platter or shallow dish. Don’t worry about making her too perfect—a witch deserves a few lumps and bumps.
Pile shredded carrots around the sides for her wild orange hair. Arrange the blue corn chips across the top to make a suitably crooked witch’s hat.
Add slices of hard-boiled egg for big googly eyes. Give her a garlic-clove nose, complete with a caper wart, and use a whole red pepper for her dramatic mouth.
Finally, tuck a cucumber flower into her carrot hair. Even witches like to dress up.
From Our Ranch
The avocados, lemon, garlic, capers, caper berries, peppers and cucumber flower were grown right here on the ranch, and the eggs came from my nephew’s hens. The carrots and blue corn chips did have to come from the store, but we haven't figured out how to grow tortilla chips yet.
You can use whatever ingredients you have to embellish her.
Serve with extra blue corn chips and enjoy your witch before she disappears!
